The Frog Prince is a German fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm from their 1812 Grimm's Fairy Tales, and adapted into the 2009 Disney movie The Princess and the Frog. In the story, a sad princess sits at a well crying after losing her golden ball. A frog offers to retrieve it for her, in exchange for letting him live with her at the castle.
